Welcome, have a seat, this will only hurt if you squirm....

Hmmmm. I was never a big fan of foriegn, subtitled movies. And its not because of that "I dont like to read" bullshit either (I read a good bit, actually), its because the subtitles divert my attention somehow leading me to get confused and totally lost when it comes to the plot of the film. I've seen, by my count, a total of five subtitled movies, ( Intacto,The Devils Backbone, Ringu, The City of Lost Children, and the most recent film, and topic of my post, Infernal Affairs) and genuinley enjoyed, and was not confused by only two of them, those being "The Devils Backbone" (my favorite of the bunch) and the film I watched yesterday "Infernal Affairs". The plot of that flick is great, a hong kong police officer goes undercover into the triads (essentally chinese mafia), where he finds out that a high ranking memeber of the hong kong police force is in fact a triad gang mole, < BADASS. The movie is not at all confusing (ok, in one spot, thats in the pre-credit sequence, but thats because its edited really badly, rest of the film= fine), entertaining for its entire (101 minute) run time and even occasionally funny ( the stereo buying scene for example) with only a few flaws to see (horrid music and blah ending). Basically, its like a chinese Micheal Mann film, (this is actually the originator of the body + taxi scene in mann's recent, and very good film Collateral.) a very good way of putting it....Totally worth renting. That of course gives me more hope for the very cool looking Kung Fu Hustle, which opens nation wide next weekend. Tonight, on the other hand, I'm checking back into the english language with the original Amityville Horror (the remake is out this weekend, and I wanted to familiarize myself with the material), and over the next three days (counting today) I'm checking out the first 3 (in a series of, believe it or not,  EIGHT) Amityville flicks....WHOOOSSSHHHHH
No people feel the need to respond to my insanities - Fucking Comments?
